Diploma in Nursing Care Assistant (DNHA)

Introduction

DNHA is a paramedical course. It is a Diploma Certificate course! This course is enough to help one acquire key nursing assistant/aide skills and knowledge. After completing the course, one will be able to land entry level nursing assistant/aide jobs at hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.

The course imparts knowledge of administration, to manage the activities of Hospitals, Clinics and assist the staff in carrying out their duties effectively. The program aims at establishing grounds for research, in examining the cost related to the service, quality of patient care, policy analysis and delivery of health services. The students are helped in polishing their interpersonal skills and communicative skills which is much-required quality for undertaking this program.

Nursing care assistants’ main tasks include

• Carrying out tasks/instructions provided by Doctors or nurses (RNs)
• Serving meals to patients
• Taking care of patient hygiene (bathing them, cleaning their rooms, groom them etc)
• Arranging equipment and accessories in patients’ rooms
• Recording patients’ body stats (pulse, weight, blood pressure etc)
• Administering medications
• Communicating with patients and their family members
• Taking patients for tests and treatment processes
